Bells Beach is one of Australia’s top surfing beaches in the Great Ocean Road region 107 km s-w of Melbourne. It was named after the first pastoralists in the area (1840s) and has held surfing contests since 1960s. In fact the famous Easter surfing competition is the world’s longest running professional surfing event now known as the Ripcurl Pro (for men).
